NiSV instructions

NiSV specialist training courses are not offered by our company due to the required independence between equipment manufacturers and training providers according to the NISV regulation.

There are a whole range of reputable and dubious NiSV specialist providers, which we evaluate for our customers (and potential customers) free of charge for suitability based on our industry experience, so that you are spared expensive and negative experiences.

It should be noted that training or updating training within the meaning of Section 4 Paragraph 3 of the Ordinance amending the Ordinance on Protection against the Harmful Effects of Non-Ionising Radiation when Used on Humans of 12 June 2023 is only considered suitable if the training provider is recognised by an accredited conformity assessment body within the meaning of Section 4a Paragraph 2.

Recognition shall be granted if 1. the training provider has a proper training organisation, 2. the training courses offered meet the requirements regarding the content of specialist knowledge according to Section 4 Paragraph 2 and Annex 3, 3. the training courses offered meet the requirements regarding scope and structure according to Annex 3.

In their own interest, every student should ask for the recognition of the specialist training provider before booking and check their recognition on the website of the respective personal certification body in order to avoid unpleasant surprises.

As a rule, all recognized training providers are listed transparently on the website of the person certification body.

Topic Laser Safety Officer according to Tros and OStrV

We also hear again and again that laser safety officer courses are sold to students under the pretext that they are a basic requirement for operating a laser system in accordance with TROS and OStrV and that violations would be subject to penalties.

Laser safety officer training is only required if the company employs staff.

OStrV - Ordinance on the protection of employees from risks caused by artificial optical radiation (Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance on Artificial Optical Radiation - OStrV

Laser Safety Officer Training according to OStrV and TROSNiSV Notes

Unfortunately, we keep hearing that laser safety officer courses are being sold to students under the pretext that they are a basic requirement for operating a laser system in accordance with TROS and OStrV and that violations would be punishable.

This is based on Section 5 OStrV and TROS:

  • Every company that uses laser equipment of classes 3R, 3B or 4 must appoint a laser safety officer in writing.

The regulation on the protection of employees from risks posed by artificial optical radiation refers to the occupational safety and health that employers must ensure to protect their employees.
